How Your Life Could Be A Dream - Goals Achieving
Many people, at some point or another, have dreamed of being someone special - of personal greatness. Their are fantasies of being a start at sports, the homecoming queen, or simply rich and successful - even just happy with our relationships.
With all these big dreams and lofty aspirations, it's unfortunate that our dreams can remain just that - dreams. All these personal ideals might as well be stored in the attic, gathering dust.
Don't get your hopes up.
Did you ever think that life could actually be much better if only we learned to convert these dreams to responsible action?
Most people stop working to achieve any goal because they believe in a little white lie called "impossible." People have a lot of phrases to justify taking no action toward their goal: "I can't do this." or "It's too hard." "It's too unrealistic." "No one can do this."
And if our industry leaders and celebrities all thought this way, there would probably never be any inventions, discoveries, or breakthroughs which make up the list of human accomplishments.
Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.
One key self-imposed limit is to have these grand dreams and then to take no action on them. The outcome is often that there are only dull, humdrum lives - with broken dreams and the only action is on TV sets.
To the degree you limit yourself with doubt and assumptions of pre-ordained failure, you may never be able to have any breakthrough past what you now consider to be impossible. Sky high dreams can only fail when you take no action toward any goal you've set.
Here's something you can try - Simply take some paper and write down a goal you want to achieve. Now under this, write out three headers - Things you know you can do; Things you might be able to do; and Things which are impossible to do.
Now work out the steps you can see right now that would help you achieve that goal. Put them under each header according to how hard you think they are to attain or achieve.
Now work out the steps you can see right now that would help you achieve that goal. Put them under each header according to how hard you think they are to attain or achieve.
You may find that as you complete more and more of the items in the first two columns, that third column of "impossible" actions might become more tempting to try - for now you may see some ways that they can be completed.
As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.
Just don't limit yourself - that's the point. Simply break down every doal into doable stepst you can start on right now. As you get these done, then you'll find that the 'might be able to do' steps are also able to be accomplished when you break them down. Even the hardest steps can be accomplished as you break out the doable steps for these. You can now see the secret to making the impossible possible.
The only disappointed and disillusioned people are those who only dream and never take action.
Airplanes, Cable television, Moon Landings, even skyscrapers - all of these were initially thought of as impossible. But hard-working and dedicated people were able to make these into our current reality simply by breaking down the goal into doable steps and getting these pushed through to completion.
No matter what dreams you have for your life - if you keep them in front of you as a goal, and keep those doable steps listed out, as long as you plan your work and work your plan - then nothing is really impossible. Keep to this strategy and win!
Because your life could be a dream - if you really you want it to be.
