What are relationships between Athrun Zala, Kira Yamato and Shinn Asuka? Why is Kira Yamato often calld "Jesus" on internet?
Athrun Zala is Kira Yamato's childhood friend. When they met again at the beginning of Seed, Athrun was a ZAFT soldier while Kira was dragged into the Earth Alliance. Therefore they became enemies. However after lots of fighting and tragic (haha) fate, they reunited again.
In Seed Destiny, Athrun re-enlisted into ZAFT and Kira became his enemy again due to a slight misunderstanding. Argh, these guys' relationship are just too... complicated. They also re-unite after that.
Shinn Asuka is Athrun's comrade in ZAFT. His family were killed in Orb and he moved to PLANT. He had a grudge towards Kira for:
1. causing the death of his parents (Kira was fighting in Orb when his family died); and
2. causing the death of his beloved person Stellar Loussier.
Shinn merely called Kira as "Freedom" (for the Gundam Kira drives).
Kira is often called "Jesus" on the Net for obvious reasons when you watch the anime:
1. He's the Ultimate Coordinator, a person said to be the perfect form of Coordinators.
2. He hardly has injuries in any given battle. During the ferocious battle between Kira and Athrun in Seed, Kira only got bruises while Athrun broke his arm. When both their MS were taken down by "enemies", Kira had bruises and scratches here and there while Athrun was badly injured it re-opened when Athrun tried to fight ZAFT in Orb (in Seed Destiny). Kira also recovers much faster than any of the Coordinators.
3. His Gundam usage. For some reason, Freedom and Strike Freedom's powers are exaggerated. Kira can take down 20 enemies within a span of 2 minutes (what an accomplishment) without him getting shot, IIRC.
4. Kira has this "charm"? Mere words can change people's opinion instantly despite how loyal they were with their beliefs. Like Lacus.
5. This may not be relevant, but he's well-known to snatch almost every single main girl in both series (Fllay, Lacus, Cagalli - yes, Cagalli is his twin, but when they first met they didn't even know about it - ... lucky he didn't snatch Miriallia). And.......... he's not virgin (Athrun still is).
