MUST WATCH Romantic/Funny Anime Series!! 2000-2010 Edition **PART 1**
Anime Series
There are many Anime Series to watch. Some can simply be tracked down on cable tv like Naruto: Shippuden. While others can only be observed by buying videos from abroad, or in comic book stores, or by observing on the internet. Many series get their beginning from manga (Japanese comics or print cartoons). Others, like Pokemon, are fresh animes that are produced by whim.
Some of the bigger series pierce the public mainstream with video games, toys, and even card collecting games to generate more talk about the show. Many fans of the show like to take part in cosplay to explain their love of the program and certain characters. Even more dedicated fans would make viral films on websites like YouTube. Most of those series have a romantic theme with clips showing one or both characters of a adored pair from the series.
Many anime series never make it to American entertainment. There are lots of reasons for this. Sometimes its because some of the content is considered too taboo for television in the States. Sometimes its believed that though the program is widely big in Japan, it might not be so in America. This is why online sites where fans can watch new anime programs on the world wide web and for free are super well liked. With websites like these, they are able to observe programs that only appeared in Japan.
S
ometimes if a series proves to be classic and very popular, it will be made into a movie. There are also films with substantive, live actors that have been created based off classic anime programs like Speed Racer and Astro Boy. Many times these genuine action films are super criticized by fans of the series.

Who can tell me about an anime series worth watching?
I'm looking for something fun to watch. It mustn't be childish or trashy, and I'd be glad to something not involving card collecting and/or monsters and/or combat for the sake of combat. It can however consist of unnatural elements, and the acting has to be at least credible (as much as it is possible in an anime series). For example, 'Death Note' is awesome, 'Fruits Basket' - though cute - is kindda lame, and '11 eyes' or whatever it's called is total trash.
Thanks for helping!
Avigail.
Okay, I juuuuuuuuuust asked the same question ahahaha .
Some of the animes I have seen that I have liked are:
First the classics
Cowboy Bebop
Follow interstellar bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black as they scour the galaxy for criminals with prices on their heads. Hoping to escape their past, they live on the spaceship Bebop, but it's a dangerous business and old enemies don't forget easily. Allies come from unlikely sources, however, as they find comrades in the beautiful swindler Faye Valentine, the genius child hacker Ed and the genetically engineered 'data dog' Ein. Will they be able to help each other though their respective struggles, or is their fate really inevitable?
Akira
Following the disaster wrought upon the world by a mysterious being called ‘Akira’, Neo Tokyo is now in social and economic turmoil. In such a decaying city, feisty Kaneda and his shy friend Tetsuo survive by running around in a biker gang, chasing local rivals and generally evading the police. Everything changes, however, when Tetsuo crashes into a strange-looking boy during a bike chase and the military ends up taking him away. When he eventually returns to his friends, he’s no longer the same weak little boy they always knew – in fact, a military experiment has turned him into something beyond human imagination. While the military is intent on reclaiming its specimen at any cost, Tetsuo is sick of being bullied around and is about to show everyone, including his friend Kaneda, exactly who is boss.
Vampire Hunter D
Thousands of years in the future, the world is overrun by demons and vampire lords. Doris, a young girl, has become the target of the great vampire lord Count Magnus Lee, who wants her as his plaything. After being bitten by the Count, she seeks the help of D, an elite vampire hunter, who decides he must venture out to slay the Count and his demon underlings to save this girl in despair.
I would also recommend:
Gundam Seed & Gundam Seed Destiny (VERY realistic)
The universe of the future is divided between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT. After a year of war, ZAFT attacks the neutral colony Heliopolis to steal five prototype mobile suits. The mission is a success, but a young man named Kira stumbles upon the fifth Gundam, and he may be the Alliance's only hope...
Air Gear (Killer Opening)
What if roller skates had high power engines that enabled the skaters to do stunning new tricks that defy gravity? What if you saw a beautiful girl effortlessly glide through the air with them? To Ikki, this is reason enough to secretly borrow a pair of Air Treck skates, and step into an underground world filled with gang fights and strange customs. Enamored with high-flying stunts and the flirtatious Simca, Ikki forms an Air Treck gang of his own and starts a life of fighting rival gangs and flying over the rooftops, chasing the girl always one kick ahead of him.
Samurai Champloo (Fight scenes are really well done)
Samurai Champloo is all about style, from the dj-style scratching scene changes to the hip-hop-inspired soundtrack to the eclectic character design. Mugen's fighting style is a funky meld of capoeira and limb-cutting, and Jin is the dramatic foil; he is all steel and old-school samurai style. What binds them together is the desire to test each other's abilities, and a promise to a girl named Fuu: to find the samurai that smells of sunflowers, who plays a pivotal role in her past. Together they travel through edo-era Japan, finding battle and comedy wherever they stop.
Good luck ahahahaa .
